As soon as I was out of high school and able, I left the seclusion of Northern Minnesota to see the world, so to speak. During my lifetime, I’ve visited forty-nine of the fifty states and most of the Canadian provinces. I have yet to visit Hawaii, probably because you can’t drive there. Flying over water isn’t something I really want to do, so I haven’t gone to Europe yet, either. Although I began genealogical research in 1966, my early travels had nothing to do with my own family history and definitely none of it in pursuit of Allred research until 1990. The focus of this page is to share stories of my Allred genealogical travels since 1990, especially when our entire family traveled together. Click here to see a photo of our family taken in 1995. We have met cousins in places we didn’t expect to find them, attended Allred and Alldredge reunions, visited cemeteries, courthouses and libraries. We met some wonderful people along the way and took many pictures, which tell the story better than I can. As the saying goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Comments or suggestions are always welcomed.
