contact Jim Allred, Research Chair The following pages have been copied from various tax lists of Chester County, PA. Whenever we found Solomon Allred or Jeremiah York listed, I highlighted their names in yellow. I also placed pink marks beside names that are familiar to anyone researching the original settlers of Randolph County, NC. Look closely - you may recognize more. Did these folks all move from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, remaining neighbors on purpose - or by coincidence? The most interesting one to me is the 1724 list where Solomon Allred and Jeremiah York are listed one above the other - meaning they lived very close to each other. In the 1750's in North Carolina, this same Jeremiah York was living "next door" to John, Thomas and Solomon Allred - their land bordering each other. Coincidence? Could John, Thomas and Solomon be the sons of the man listed on the tax lists in Pennsylvania?
