ECAFA Meeting Minutes
April 19, 2005
The ECAFA met Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at Dry Dock Seafood in Siler City.
Present were:
Harlan Sexton
Dot Judd
Nancy Martin
Brian Allred
Tonya Allred
Mildred Allred
Wayne Ward
Mary Ward
Lawrence Allen
Dot Allen
Franklin Allred
Linda Cooper
The meeting opened with discussion about the York Family Cemetery. Members
agreed they were interested in proceeding with plans to gain ownership of the
cemetery and begin cleaning it off - but felt that Eddie York and CJ York need
to take the lead with this project before anything is done.
Discussion then turned to the upcoming Great Wagon Road research trip.
Linda updated everyone on the schedule for the trip, explaining which libraries
would be visited. A full schedule will be posted on the ECAFA web site and
mailed to each member next week.
There will be a cemetery work day Saturday, May 21, (weather pending).
Everyone is to meet at the Allred-Trogdon Cemetery at 9am. Depending on
how much needs to be done to clean the cemetery, we may move on to the Odell-Trogdon
Cemetery, Lane-Foust Cemetery and/or York Family Cemetery later in the day.
The ECAFA is invited to meet genealogy researchers Linda Steele, Dawnell Hatton
Griffin and her daughter Amanda who will be traveling through Randolph County
Saturday, May 28, at 6pm at Best Foods in Siler City for a supper meeting.
Another supper meeting is scheduled for Saturday, June 4, at 6pm at the Golden
Corral in Asheboro. This will be a "kick off" supper as the
Great Wagon Road research trip begins that next morning. | |
