Everyone agreed the historical information, actors and the entire atmosphere of New Bern's historic district made it an unforgettable trip. We also discussed all the recent work that has been done in the Allred - Trogdon Cemetery. Everyone applauded Harlan Sexton's hard work in building the display case and new picnic tables. Thanks also went out to Franklin Allred and Bob Bryan for their chain saw skills. Discussion then turned to the DNA project and new findings being revealed. The project has expanded to include the Elrod family. Two Elrod descendants have recently sent their DNA samples to the lab for processing and the results should be back in 4-6 weeks. The Allred DNA project is expanding also with a new British Aldred who is participating. Hopefully results from their DNA tests will be back in time for the information to be published in the next AFO newsletter.
